Friday Harbor is the main town in the islands. It has a large marina with associated boating services.

Another home for boats and mariners is Shipyard Cove on the south side of Friday Harbor.

Across San Juan Channel, about a mile from Friday Harbor, is quiet Parks Bay on Shaw Island.
